在上面的兩種譯文中，顯然第一種譯文主語選得好，句子流暢。

此句主語部分處理得頗為干練。
操吳戈兮披犀甲，車錯轂兮短兵接。
We grasp huge shields, clad in Rhinoceros Hide;the Chariots clash, the Daggers gashing wide.(楊憲益譯《屈原·國殤》)
屈原一開篇就“操吳戈兮披犀甲，車錯轂兮短兵接”，顯然需要補充應有的主語。在《國殤》詩中，後面還有“身既死兮神以靈，子魂魄兮為鬼雄”的句子，可見屈原是以“局外人”的視角來寫為國捐軀的將士的，而非把自己混為軍中一員。譯文中的主語應改為“They”較妥。
廚房裡少了一條魚，主人發誓要一查到底，揪出偷魚的賊。

盡管漢語中似乎有“廚房”“主人”兩個主語，譯者果斷地選定了the host作主語。打點清晰，增強了句子的內聚力。

因為是輕松讀本，又是描述性的文字，使用三個主語the coconut palms、the congenial sea breeze、a young lady仍是可取的。
1.加強自身基本素養

以上例句中的漢語原文十分自然，英語翻譯則顯累贅。以句1為例，“崎嶇不平”乃漢語互文見義表達，同時也是出於協調平仄效果的考慮，中國人覺得並無不妥。但在英語中，rough 與bumpy 卻屬於明顯無意義重復，英美人並不認可。句2的情形也一樣，success已經是指“圓滿成功”，否則就不能說success.句3中的 collapse指的就是“全部塌下”，如果僅是部分塌下，則不宜使用collapse.至於例句4，“耳聽為虛，眼見為實”也是屬於互文見義的強調型修辭，譯成英語只需取其一義即可。所以，上述例子的正確英譯應該是：

當然，累贅型“中式英語”絕不僅限於以上類型，中國人的修辭風格、行文風格以及基於音義的對仗、排比等，也很容易導致累贅型英譯。比如2006年“世界歷史文化名城市長論壇南京宣言”中有這樣一句話：

原文中“身心和諧”、“人人相親”、“ 人人平等”、“天下為公”的“四字格”表述在譯文中統統被融進了整句話的意境和精神中，不另譯出。而這樣做的結果是譯文反而愈顯蘊義明晰、簡潔得體。既傳達出原文的本質含義，又避免了照搬漢語行文風格而導致的英文表述拖泥帶水，值得我們借鑒。
